Instruments in the 19th century

In 1866, a British instrument manufacturer advertised a complete surgical set in its catalogue. The box made of mahogany wood contained, among other things, amputation saws and knives, several scalpels, a tourniquet or various needles.

The set came with a handsome price tag. What else could a surgeon have bought for it?
